His name first rose to prominence when he won the Maglia Nera, the black jersey for the last rider in the Giro d’Italia, in 1951.
In 1953, Giovanni opened his first bike shop in Treviso, Northern Italy, and the Pinarello brand was born. What began as a small business grew into an international symbol of quality and performance. With the arrival of his son Fausto, a new era began, one in which Pinarello’s influence and success in cycling only grew.
Today, Pinarello is known for supplying top-of-the-range bikes to the world’s greatest cyclists. Since 2010, the brand has been working with Team Ineos, a partnership that has resulted in many victories in Grand Tours.
